Thats pretty weird. I go to a selective High School in Wollongong (had to do a test to get in)
for HSC I have to do:

Mandatory 10 units
English Adv. is compulsory

Yeah I do 10 units and English advanced is compulsory. If you do maths you have to do advanced minimum
