NationStates is a browser-based nation simulator. It's rather bare bones: everything is based on a few initial choices, then a series of "issues" every day in which you choose from a few different policy options. These choices define the character of your nation. The consequences of your actions, and the issues themselves, are very exaggerated and humourous (the game was created by the author of the book "Jennifer Government," Max Barry, and the exaggeration is intentional).

NationStates2 promises to be a more involved simulation, so likely a tad closer to CyberNations in the level of immersion. I've secured my 6 country names from NationStates already by pre-registering for NS2, but wasn't in the list of the 500 random names selected for the first batch of beta invites. So I'm awaiting those e-mails.

Does no one else find it to be a steaming pile of rubbish?

It is just... hard to get around (no searching) and the buttons are odd... I'm in Australia on World 40, and who saw the eRep ad? I did, I did!

It's open now I believe, you don't need an invite any more.

guys, you do know that this is where all the /v/aki's went too. They are going to strike down there, ruin the game and move on to the next.
