universal riddles topic

RULES:

only one active riddle per time. ONLY if you guess the previous riddle, you can post a new one. If you don't know any new riddles you can pass your turn and the fastest one after you can post a new riddle.

If the riddle isn't solved after 2 or 3 days, post the asnwer




here goes the first one:

A boat has a capacity of 3 ppl. It is rented by some ppl: 2 fathers and 2 sons take place in that boat. Yet it doesn't sink. Why?

There are only 3 people.

Grandfather, Father and Son.

Grandfather = Father, Father = Father + son and Son = Son making 2 of each.

Ok. I haven't got time to get any new ones so here's a fairly easy one:

You are outside a completely solid room, the only way for ANYTHING to get in or out is through a solid, opaque door.
Inside the room is a light.
Outside the room are 3 lightswitches.

How can you tell for sure which switch turns on the light, if you're only allowed to enter the room once?

the other 2 light switches are to lights outside the room?

Nope. It's a little more lateral than that.

Well i would suppose you switch on the first switch and wait for 10 minutes. Then you switch the first one of again and switch teh second one on. Now you go inside and have a look.
If the light is on its teh second switch, if the light is off and warm it is the first switch otherwise it is the third.

OK here it goes:

In the middle of the desert, there is a dead mans body lying in the sand. He is almost completley naked. Around him the sand is untouched for miles in every direction. Next to him are lying a lot of clothes. more than one person could wear.
Also there is a short match lying just next to his right hand.

What happened?

I don't know, but I want to go to that party!

best guess? he tried to make a big balloon out of those clothes and used the match to produce warm air, but the match ran out and he fell down and died

not bad but not right. There was a ballon involved though!

He was in /v/akistan, and the sand engulfed the remains of the other 8 people as well as eliminating the evidence of the massive battle.

For it is Widdows9000 who is lying in the sand having singlehandedly defeating 8 enemies with his Q1 matchstick
