Warhammer Online
Anyone getting this/planning to get this?
I've never been into the who MMORPG thing much, but a couple of friends are picking this up so I decided to give it a try.

Re: Warhammer Online
dunno anything about it, used to play warhammer 15 years ago so might take a look.
the thing about MMORPG is the monthly fee all the good ones charge.
I tryed guildwars as theres no monthly fee but the skill cap of level 20 kinda kills the game.

Same here, but more like 5.
I've tried Guild wars and it's just not deep enough for me, the RvR thing they have in WAR has me interested - might give a bit of depth to the PvP aspect of the game.
That and I <3 the Warhammer Dwarf lore.

I rather liked the level 20 skill cap. For the pure reason that games like WoW make you work for a very, very long time to get to the high levels. And until then, it's not really fun. GW...takes a couple of weeks max (If you're not playing it all hardcore n shit) and you're top level, meaning you're RP character can enjoy PVP and farms etc. etc. I like it much more than WoW (And I have both).
I wont be getting Warhammer lol, if its anything like WoW, waste of time and money imo. (By anything, that means shit and charge monthly fees).
Like Ip said, the RvR thing did also interest me, but I don't think one new idea to a game is enough to make me buy it.

Re: Warhammer Online
Well it should arrive today, so I'll post on how it goes.
(This coming from a complete MMORPG n00b. My online experience with RPG's is limited to Diablo2 and a short period of guild wars.)

Re: Warhammer Online
A load of the Oxford crew (who are in RL from Reading) have a guild as Destruction on Karag Orddu - given a few of us had preorders we've made a bit of progress already - including beating up a bunch of Goons and stealing their Keeps yesterday.

Re: Warhammer Online
What's the restriction like on Destruction/Order?
Can you have both types on one account?
From what I've seen so far the community aspect of it hasn't fully taken off yet. I'll see if I can find you guys on there.

You can have both types on one account, but only one side per server - you're free to take characters of any of the races within it though.

Ah good good, I will get to play Destruction as my alt then.
Any server problems so far? Or should I expect smooth service this evening?

Re: Warhammer Online
Not with the game servers, no...
The open beta was a bit of a fiasco for account creation and activation though
There are a few UI bugs though - these can be fixed with a quick /reloadui command though.

Re: Warhammer Online
The chat system is a bit clunky. Lots of problems with it seeming quiet. Usually on these games the OOC general chat is the first thing to hit you, but it starts off a little silent personally.

Re: Warhammer Online
I have a character on GW, though I played it to find out what it was about and pretty much havent touched it. I would probably play it more if I were online with others that I knew playing it, but I am the only real computer person in my "crew", and you lot are online about 12 hours before I can be

Ok - think I've got the hang of it.
I've got a DE Sorc (planning to spec destruction) on Karag Orrud @ Lvl4. I'll get him past what is inevitibly the 'starter' section and then try and link up with you guys for some questing/RvR.

We have people in all areas at the moment. Just ask any of the 'Guild Officers' in this list and they'll invite you.
