Virus :(

Post by mr. brodie on Wed Oct 29, 2008 10:47 pm

Why's there not a computer section >_>

I think I installed a virus Sad

D/W guys, I found the virus. If you go into AVG and the Virus Vault, then click Delete, is the virus gone forever? Or is it deleted from the virus vault?

a tracking cookie is not necessarily a keylogger. it usually just records which pages you visited etc.
Anyhow get your self something like mc affee run it on your HD and and be done with it.

I was looking at the completly wrong thing. AVG said it was harmful, but the virus was something else. Cheers anyway. Do you know the answer to my edited question in the first post please?

aah, Don't get me started AVG. If I ever get the creator in my hands I'll beat the living sh*t our of him. I've had nothing but troubles with it. (the free version that is, haven't tried the pay version)

The free version doesn't remove you viruses, it just stores them in a vault, but they are not removed.

My recent computer problems where all due to AVG, I scanned with my AVG and he didn't found any viruses. I then bought a norton IS and he found 3 viruses, removed them and everything worked fine again.

Jamais de ma vie (french for never of my life) will I ever use AVG. Nothing but crap.

Boo at Norton, or anything by Symantec for that matter.

AVG's been passable from my experience with it, not a patch on Sophos though.

McAfee for me but that's the only one I know of apart from Norton and that's really crap in my book.

I lived by AVG until it crashed my $5500 AUD computer ... now I'm using Trend Mirco and it seems pretty good. BTW if anyone wants a 1 year license for 2 computers for AVG 0.8 Internet Security just let me know and I will give it to you cheap as I'm not using it anymore.
