A levels

Post by mr. brodie on Thu Nov 20, 2008 7:36 pm

Well kids, gotta pick choices soon Razz
So I'm just wondering if any of you have taken these and what they're like.

History
Politics
Law
Maths
Sport of some kind

Most should be piss easy to get, only needs a B in English or History, so it's more of which is best.

Lol am I controversial? Lol Brodie it will be this crew in Politics: FoxC, me, Brodie, GBarnes, TSimp and a few others lol. Only problem is we'll probably piss about and fail like my brother Razz

EDIT: Brodie just saw you were considering to take Maths, are you having a laugh? Maths is really tough and requires someone to be naturally good at Maths or very dedicated and no offence you're crap at Maths and about as dedicated as a dead squirrel (dunno why I said that).

Oh and you sure you're actually gonna get in 6th form?

EDIT EDIT: Yeah I'll have real good crewage in Law and Politics but in Chemistry and Biology I'll be with Bandit and that's it Razz Sad

Math is short for Mathematics, so saying Maths is just silly.

Are you American? Not being funny it's just they say Math, just wondering, and yeah I agree you're right that Math is the appropriate shortening, but hey I live in the rural parts of England and I'm stuck in my ways Razz

What was AS politics like?

@Widds: Maths is a decent option, it really depends on how I'm feeling at the time of writing to them Razz

I'm decent at maths, it's just I put absolutely no effort in to anything Smile

Maths is closer to the Latin root. 'Math' is just a hideous and lazy abbreviation, the very mention of which ought to embarass our finely-tuned British ears.

Also, why are you doing Law?

@Widds, i'm sure you can do more than 4...

ok, being someone that went through highschool in scotland i have no idea what an A level is..but i'm assuming it's on the same level as the scottish higher. which makes me wonder why you lot are only doing 4. i had to do 5 highers or work for mcdonalds for the rest of my life. which again was odd because the scottish uni's wouldn't take me with only 5 highers, i had to go to england (where i was put on an advanced course because i had so many highers).

All abreviations are lazy, but if you're going to do them you might aswell at least do them sensibly.
